Marine Ships Performans Measuring
Remedies and Reporting

The main cause of major faults in the ship's main engine and D/Gs is the power imbalance between the cylinders.

When in-cylinder performance measurement and analysis is not performed on existing ships, measurement is made with the Pmax device as a practical solution, and exhaust temperatures are tried to be equalized.

When the injection advance is set incorrectly and the injection system does not work properly, since it is not known at which crank angle the maximum pressure occurs, Pmax and exhaust temperature adjustments are tried to be made with fuel indexes. Incorrect intervention to the main engine and DGs causes the load distribution between the cylinders to deteriorate, causing serious machine malfunctions.

The expert team of our company regularly measures the performance of the main machine and DGs, and with the reports they prepare for you, it is possible to find possible malfunctions in advance and take precautions before major malfunctions occur.

Figures 2a and 2b show the percentage deviation of pressure variation and load distributions from the average value after our expert technical team has taken the necessary adjustments and precautions. After the necessary adjustments and precautions were taken, the load distribution between the cylinders remained within the 4% variation range.

The measurements made and the evaluation report to be prepared include the following measurements and evaluations:

-Comparative analysis of load-dependent indicated and effective power values according to factory test values

-Deviation values of each cylinder compression pressure (Pcomp) from the average value

-Comparative combustion pressure analysis of cylinders (Pmax),

-Deviation values of each cylinder combustion pressure (Pmax) from the average value

-Crank angle (apmax) at which maximum pressure occurs for each cylinder and injection advance information,

-The load distribution between the cylinders and the percentage value and amount of deviation of the power produced in each cylinder from the average value,
